Re: What operating system are you running?
Ubuntu 10.04 and Crunchbang Linux. Ditched Windows the Summer before last and never looked back. I cringe every time I have to use it at work.

Re: Ubuntu
I made the switch from Windows to Ubuntu last year and never looked back. The nail in the coffin was my new computer which came preloaded with Vista, which was a horrible experience. I'd recommend going with Ubuntu over Mint, simply because there is a much bigger community of people sharing their pr...

Re: Favorite Game Boss Fight
I really liked the final boss fight from Metal Gear Solid 3. You had to utilize all of your gadgets and trickery to bring her down, and it was really exciting. Other than that, the winged desert serpent boss fight from Shadow of the Colossus was awesome, too.

What can you build? What are your projects?
Hey guys, Quick back story; I recently just ended a relationship with a girl I had been seeing for quite some time, and as I live in a college town all my friends have flown home for the summer I now have excessive amounts of time on my hands. Even though I exercise, hold a job, and have all the gam...

Re: Should I even bother?
I just have to throw in my few cents because I'm in a similar boat. Just started tinkering around with Python making simple games because I can. My first one, Dice Combat Heroes X, is a fun waste of time and I hope to do more. I have incredibly limited programming experience, so this was a new ventu...

Re: Games that you are proud that you have beaten.
Two words; Ninja Gaiden. Grueling! I am SO close to beating Super Ghouls n' Ghosts, I can get to the second to the last boss on the second play through, but I ALWAYS run out of time. I've cheated myself and warped to the very last boss, just to make sure I could beat it (I can), but I don't feel goo...

Re: Whats that one game you play every year.
Shadow of the Colossus needs to be beaten at least once a year, preferably during those cold winter months. I consider it training, because you never know when you'll have to resurrect your girlfriend by slaying colossi in some bleak, desolate landscape.

Re: I really want one of these for school.
Don't go HP. I remember reading an article on the hardware failure rates by manufacturer, and they're at the tippity top. Honestly, if you're going to be using the PC just for class, I'd go with something small, light, and inexpensive. I bought an Eee PC netbook for taking notes in class and writing...
