Re: Games in our heads that will probably never get made.
I was definitely imagining most of them working out like simple puzzles. Nothing too extreme, always with the goal of keeping the game immersive. Sometimes it might be as simple as having to find a missing tool to do a certain job. Sometimes you have to repair something and it get's more involved. B...

Re: Games in our heads that will probably never get made.
One time around a decade ago I was at my grandmothers house and she asked me to move some stuff out from under her porch. It was mostly a lot of yard tools. There was also an axe and some chopped up firewood that had been forgotten and left to rot. Ever since then I've had some loose idea for a game...

Re: Article: Combating Gamer’s Choice Paralysis
I was (pleasantly?) surprised to see that your main strategy for clearing the backlog is the same as my own. One long game and one short game at a time. Short games that happen to be level based are very convenient for this method. Depending on how long a single level lasts it really helps keep thin...

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
Currently playing Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura for the first time. About... 15ish hours in? I've been mostly focusing on side quests but on my way to the Black Mountain Dwarf clan now. It's a very solid RPG. I haven't played a western cRPG in a while so it scratches that itch. Honestly h...

Re: Backwards Compatibility - Trust the PS5 or Buy An HDMI C
I can't recommend the pound cables. I bought the same ones off of Limited Runs' website and it has terrible image quality. More grainy than my component cables and with a very distracting blue tint to the image. Not sure if it's some unique problem with those cables and my TV or what, but I tried ev...

Re: Sequels that make earlier games feel obsolete
Personally Doom 2 obsoletes Doom 1. It's not really a huge leap in quality, more to do with how similar they are. Doom 2 is basically the same game but with new levels that still have the same feel, a wider variety of enemies, and a super shotgun. Why would I ever want to go back to playing without ...

I hope the physical edition does include Curse of the Moon. If they ever sent me my code for that, it's been lost in my email and I cannot find it.

Firmament (New Steampunk adventure game from Cyan)
https://gematsu.com/2018/03/myst-obduction-studio-cyan-announces-firmament From the people who made the Myst series and Obduction, in other words my favorite point and click adventures. This time it's steam punk so the art style seems to be more similar to how it was in Myst, unlike Obductions sort...

Re: Poll - How Many Physical Games are in Your Collection?
Did a quick count and it seems i'm sitting at 312 physical games, all on console. I know off the top of my head that I own roughly 500 digital games, all on PC. I think i'm actually more happy with my overall collection of physical console games though, because it's just so easy to impulse buy PC ga...
