Raspberry Pi + RGB GPIO solutions

Anybody has one of these? I mean Pi2SCART, RetroTink or Gert's VGA... I'd like to compare notes (timings?) regarding getting some of the more pesky emulators to display properly. I have a lot under control - most main consoles, some micros, horizontal MAME. But a few still refuses to play nicely nam...

Re: Best option for an emulator box?

Some weeks onwards, I`m bit more clued up about this subject...however it`s still quite a quagmire. I did get a Wii and softmodded it following mostly the guides from this thread . It (mostly) works, but I must say, it`s hell of a confusing setup, with about as many pluses as minuses. The main issue...

Re: What happened to beat em' ups?

Not so much in the obviously superior Sega Master System version though. You mean the one with vaseline filter applied and the gangland & villains looking like they escaped from a Village People`s production of West Side Story? OK. Regardless of "the look", the micro versions are know...

Re: Random Thoughts Thread

Never mind gold or...guns (huh?) Just buy a load of obscure jRPGs - true nerds will always buy them at a premium, no matter what apocalypse might befall this sorry planet ;)

Re: What happened to beat em' ups?

I think us "console kiddies" had the better ports. So much work in response to a little innocent joke...my, aren`t we sensitive? ;) A joke that went waaay over your head, btw, which is my fault I suppose. I should`ve mentioned that I grew up behind Iron Curtain where there was NO CONSOLES...

Re: Direct me to the drama please

I guess it's obvious this site is on the way out, huh? If you say so. I`m not sure what your measure is - amount of posts or new articles? I`m not a regular but have used this site over the years so can`t say if it`s in "decline" or not. Some thoughts: -I disagree on the fact that there`s...

Re: What happened to beat em' ups?

Bit funny reading this debate, since for somebody raised in the micro-land - as opposed to y`all console kiddies - there is only one master brawler in town: http://www.mobygames.com/images/covers/l/69375-renegade-amiga-front-cover.jpg When it arrived on my ZX Spectrum, the quality of the port was so...

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?

I think akeley meant Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, which is definitely awesome. Here's hoping Arkane's Prey is awesome, because it looks incredible. And I still need to play Dishonored 2, shame Bethesda forced them on old idTech and it was a disastrous launch. You`re right, it`s the Messiah I ha...

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?

Arx is one of my all time favourites - a truly original FP RPG with tons of style and character - and the game that put Arkane on the map. They released source code for it later on and some enterprising folk fixed the game for modern machines (it was stuttery and had lots of bugs originally): http:/...
