Re: WELL THIS IS INTERESTING.. Retron 5
For anyone that still uses my patches: I've come to find out due to many users on here and other places like Reddit that many of patches have gotten removed by mediafire thanks to Nintendo. Pretty much anything that's gotten hit has been related to a game published by them. Due to this and the fact ...

For anyone that is interested in the final complete version of Star Fox 2 as it's been released on the SNES Classic Edition, these patches should be of interest to Retron 5 owners:

Re: RetroN HD - NES 720p for $39.99
This thing runs on a typical NOAC as opposed to the Retron 5 and Retro Freak which runs on emulation and dumping the cartridge to memory first so yeah I don't see why it wouldn't be able to run flash carts. Of course stuff like this has it's own problems as well to the point of me not understand why...

Re: RetroFreak (11 consoles in 1)
Yeah SMS roms work fine, so do Mark III, and Game Gear....and SG-1000. Just like you don't need a Famicom->NES converter to necessarily play NES games if you're just going through roms instead. But yeah due to the way the Retro Freak works it doesn't really matter how you get SMS games inserted into...

Re: RetroFreak (11 consoles in 1)
The pins on the Retro Freak hold up pretty well in my opinion honestly. I've dumped about 500+games on to it twice (the second time because I accidentally trashed my rom dumps)..all within probably an hour span each time which is a lot of abuse in my opinion but the slots have held up fine. As far a...

Re: RetroFreak (11 consoles in 1)
The only problem I find with using roms (yours that you backed up or 'otherwise') is one that is more psychological and probably different for everyone....it's that sometimes I feel like well if i'm essentially just going to play roms why not just do it on my PC or Shield TV. The shield/RetroArch in...

Re: RetroFreak (11 consoles in 1)
The controller adapter is a separate box that connects through a USB cable (assuming you get a version of the Retro Freak that even comes with it) and then has the plug ins for different controllers on that. It doesn't block the main unit at all as it sits separate from the whole thing. Other than t...

Re: RetroFreak (11 consoles in 1)
Yeah I heard a lot of complaints about overheating when the Retro Freak first launched in Japan a year+ ago. If it's any consolation I have a launch unit from then I use everyday and I have never had that issue, regardless of circumstances i've put it in...running it with the cartridge slot unit att...

Re: RetroFreak (11 consoles in 1)
Refresh my memory, this thing likes multicarts and flash kits which the retron5 gets all snooty about and ignores right? And what was the cost of this thing over there (not for importer abuse) as well was the controller adapter? It's not necessarily that the Retro Freak is better with those devices...
