Re: (2018) Found an AVR with S-Video Inputs !
I've not posted on here for an age but my retro set up uses a reoativly cheap Denon AVR 1909 which has s-video connections although I have had limited success using them to output 480 over HDMI. Note that this could be more down to me not fully understanding the Denons user interface which isnt very...

Re: WELL THIS IS INTERESTING.. Retron 5
So, suppose you play an hour of Chrono Trigger on the SNES. Then you switch to the Retron 5. Your save is imported and you continue playing on the R5 and beat the game. If you switch back to a SNES you will still have your original one-hour save, not the R5 save - unless you elect to dump your R5 s...

Re: WELL THIS IS INTERESTING.. Retron 5
Unsure if an emulator state can be *directly* imported to the Retron 5. What I'd suggest is to find your emulator save state, rename it with the same extension that the Retron 5 uses (I believe it's .sav, but save a game on the Retron 5 first and go to the file manager), copy it to an SD card so th...

Re: WELL THIS IS INTERESTING.. Retron 5
Does anyone know whether it is possible to transfer save states from other emulators over to the Retron 5? A friend of mine has lost his 12hr Final Fantasy IV save by rebooting too quickly after it not loading the first time (?) and was wondering whether he could use the one from here to transfer i...

Re: Organizing Wires (The Wire Mess From Hell)
I have a similar set up to you, (AV receiver to switch between consoles all outputting to 1 TV/projector using an IKEA Expedit shelving unit) and have exactly the same issue. I was thinking of painting a large piece of hard board and tacking it to the back of the unit and core drilling a 30mm diamet...

Re: WELL THIS IS INTERESTING.. Retron 5
Skel28 well that is really weird. I didn't actually discover this issue, a member on another forum (Bear and Badger-Retro thread) bought one and asked whether my 50Hz setting worked on the Retron as his didn't. To see whether it did or not I did a few tests using PAL Sonic 1 on the Retron 5 and then...

Re: WELL THIS IS INTERESTING.. Retron 5
I'm still using mine too. I live in the UK and am really pleased with the 60HZ refresh option. Even PAL optimized (50HZ) games seem to convert well. One thing I have noticed is that the 50HZ option and the 'play at original refresh rate' options do not work ie every game plays at 60HZ whatever setti...
