Re: Should I just emulate?
I was on a commodore 1702 when I did it, he was on a Sony PVM 20m4u with the wii through component and then the NES via composite after I switched it over. So yes, he was using the same CRT display the whole time.

Re: Should I just emulate?
I'm an avid emulation supporter. My only problem with it is input latency. This testing using the Wii virtual console and a Wii port of Snes9x is the best example I've seen. m Taken from here: m My experience has been the same on Windows emulators as well. To add my own example, a friend and I were ...

Re: Sony Trinitron PVM 20M2U Picture quality
I'll have to look into the Shinybow ones, but I found my old cheap powered monoprice one from a few years ago and it looks like it did the trick. m You can't go straight from VGA to RGB with the 31Khz signal a PC outputs. You need a scan converter. I use an extron emotia I got from eBay and it works...

Re: Sony Trinitron PVM 20M2U Picture quality
You're welcome! And wow...I feel stupid right now. While messing with a bunch of random stuff today I hooked my Wii up to the PVM directly instead of going through my video switch like usual and the difference was incredible. The picture is vibrant and colorful just like everyone always describes. T...

Re: Sony Trinitron PVM 20M2U Picture quality
Yeah, that's what I use and what is shown in the picture I posted. I think I might have actually learned that in one of your threads and is why I grabbed it from my parents' garage to replace the Samsung GXTV I was using at the time. I prefer the s-video quality on the 1701 to RGB or component on th...

Re: Genesis Plus GX Sega CD Support.
Thanks for continuing to update us about this, LentFilms. I never expected to have such an excellent solution for Sega CD games, or most of the other emulators people have made available on the Wii, for that matter. Very exciting stuff.

Re: Sony Trinitron PVM 20M2U Picture quality
I actually do have the service manual. I paid $5 on one of those sites to grab it, but it was worth it. You can get into the service menu by pressing the menu button once to bring up the regular menu, and then pressing degauss and enter simultaneously. The manual explains the settings pretty well. m...

Re: Sony Trinitron PVM 20M2U Picture quality
I recently picked up a 20M2U as well, and am similarly disappointed. The image is very accurate, but a bit dull. I have the internal screen pot turned up as high as I feel is safe. If I turn off all the lights and use it in a completely dark room after giving my eyes a bit of time to adjust, it's no...
