POLL: Jamestown; How should we play it in STGT

Post by mjmjr25 »

Please select your preference.

Note, playing Gauntlet will require very minimal time. You have to play the first level (I believe) and earn 1,000 ducats. You may need to play a couple times...

Gauntlet Mode is your hi-score, playing until you die (traditional)
Playing a single stage you play to end of stage only (caravan-ish style)

No idea since I've never played it. I'm more concerned with getting a decent controller to use with Steam. Is my best bet just buying a wired 360 controller?

I use a rock-candy pad ($20~) and am thoroughly pleased with feel and functionality. It is picked up immediately by STEAM, Win 8, Win 7, etc.

Wired sticks for 360 work very out of the gate in most cases too.

EDIT: used for $15 and up (shipped) and new for $20 and up (shipped)

I'm all for gauntlet on legendary. Novice sounds boring and just playing one stage sounds boring too. My only concern is how long/how much effort it will take to unlock gauntlet legendary. If I can do it in an evening with credit feeding if necessary then fairplay.

I don't see a "change to a game with console ports or mame" option. ;)

You sound like me.

Give in to STEAM and MAME. Resistance is futile. Once you get past the headaches of setup (yes people, this stuff gives us old guys headaches) then it's pretty painless and very convenient after that.

so I can't remember - I know you get a score for each level, but on a single credit does it actually add them up and give you a total score for your run? If the answer's no, then I'm gonna vote for the caravan.

Yes, if you play Gauntlet mode.

I voted Guantlet/Novice. But it looks like the winner is pretty clear at this point?
