what do you think. Personally i think all the mortal kombat series have cheap AI if you try to fight them like you normally would against a human.
In tekken 5 if you pick heiachi mashima if you do half circle forward and triangle (ps cont)
he does this fierce punch and the computer will not know how to counter and get hit by it all the time.

Every fighting game I've played has had cheap AI since they can do everything perfect and don't need to attempt to type in memorized codes in under .00001 seconds.

in that sense is true. But some games cpu oppenents are recorded from actual pros. So hence its not really cheap for some games

Mortal Kombat, without a doubt. The game makes a name for itself by being cheap; it is practically its niche! Also, on behalf of my friend, I will vote Dragonball Z. He spend several hours on a single boss in one of the DBZ PSP games, until he got rid of the game in frustration.

Finally played Street fighter 4 the other day and Seth was pissing me of majorly. Just as I'd almost have him put away, he'd suddenly pull out this insane series of special moves to beat me. Controller snapping rage ensued.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Art of Fighting should be on this list. That game created the 'SNK Boss Syndrome'. With Every Damn Fight.
Failing that, KoF.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Cheapest AI for a Fighting Game
Street Fighter II will always be the cheapest AI.
Re: Cheapest AI for a Fighting Game
I'm surprised Guilty Gear isn't on this list. The first one was a joke, literally any AI could use their instant kill attack to end the entire match in 1 single hit, and they acted far too quickly for any human to recover. Not to mention that boss fights in that series got increasingly preposterous (Order Sol).
