Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital?

Whats your format of choice? And for what reasons? I've been thinking about getting a Crosley record player just to play some old school stuff I found in my mothers basement. Some old Beatles, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. I love the old look of the Crosley music boxes and the raw sound of vinyl.

i would say vinyl for the fact you can get a lot of good ones on the cheap via flea markets and tag sales. But i also like the sound quality on them so i buy new releases on vinyls as well

I like vinyl for the album art and the physical aspect of playing music off them, other than that I'm all digital. I use cds in my car, but only because I haven't gotten around to getting a radio that can play off sd cards or something like that.

It really depends on where I plan on listening to it. If it's something to play in my car, I'll go with digital cause it's cheap, convenient and I don't have to worry about scratching the CDs, since I can always just burn another.
But if I'm gonna want to dance to it, or chill to it - gotta have the vinyl.

When I can afford it
Vinyl all the way.
It just sounds so much better than digital. Plus it's nice to have big artwork, to have something to hold.

My brother has started getting into vinyl, so I've gotten him a few albums for his birthday (Zeppelin IV being a notable one). But myself, I don't have enough of an ear for sound quality, so I just go with digital.

I have to agree with everyone else with some exception. Vinyl is my favorite commercially released medium. It sounds fantastic through a old school hi-fi reciever. i have a 70s marantz quadradial 4 and records sound great through it. cds or even an ipod can sound great through the stereo or in my car too but the records just top them. Now the exception is listening to audio in pro tools or logic recorded in 24 bit 48k or even 44.1k before its mastered through some high end monitors in a properly tuned room. when the audio isnt compressed and limited it has so much life to it and can sound truly amazing.
