For a full length game, we'll focus on the original NiGHTS into Dreams, but I also recommend Christmas NiGHTS as it will have Christmas mode turned on if your Saturn's clock is set to December.

Enjoy!

I'll also be setting up another thread to post your score/times for levels.

I'm going to have to find an analog controller somewhere.

Question: if I were to huntdown the Japanese import for PS2, will I be able to play it? I use FreeMcBoot, so I'm pretty sure I can play imports, BUT isn't it a PAL title, which means it won't output to a NTSC television correctly? (I'm a bit fuzzy on PAL/NTSC etc).

I'm personally not an expert with the whole PAL thing, but if you have any other imports to try, that should answer your question....

Nights is a lot like pinball. Some people don't see the point, but others just zen on the game. I think the game is a work of art, especially musically. And Christmas Nights is so worth playing. In the US it was a promotional demo released at Christmastime through Blockbuster, if I recall correctly. In Japan I think it was a separate release with a lower price. It has only the first map for each kid but it has a slightly cleaned up engine (I read somewhere) and lots of neat unlockables.

I dn't have any import games. I'm new to the whole import gaming concept. Haha. I doubt I'll actually figure this out, track down a copy at reasonable price and get to play in time for this one. But I'll be at Secret Of Monkey Island with bells on!

Nice choice. I think I'll get myself that PS2 version to try out something different (played NiGHTS to death already on my Saturn :D)

I'm not sure I understand your question. Like you said, the PS2 Nights is a Japanese game, NTSC/J, so if you have an American system, as long as you can boot imports (with either a modchip or a boot cd for imports), I don't see the problem.

Didn't the US version have unlockables too? The European version (which was also a promotional cd, not sold as far as I know) had a lot and some of them were really neat, like playing with Sonic for example :D

I didnt say it was NTSC, I said I thought it was PAL. So that's why I was asking.

Now I see why you were confused. Like I said, Japanese games are NTSC/J, PAL is Europe and Australia. Anyway, it's answered, as long as you have a way to boot imports you shouldn't have any problem.
