Mod chip acccident!

Hello, on the troubleshooting page, I posted the comment about the two pins that were connected with solder on accident. Also the pins were touched for an extensive period of time with the soldering iron, so I'm assuming my Saturn's CD drive is dead. I also desoldered the chip and plugged the CD ribbon back in. Also, there's still a tiny bit left inbetween the pins, so could that effect the drive still not working? But since I posted this Topic, I'll ask another question. If the IC pins on the modchip were to touch the metal of the Saturn (which is model 2 by the way) would the mod chip be ruined, and if so, would installing it in a new Saturn effect it? Would it ruin the Saturn?
EDIT: Ok, I realized the pins are kinda burnt, but nothing on the mod chip looks that broken or anything, but somehow could that or the pins touching metal short it or anything, and if it is and install it into another saturn, would it ruin it?
