3DO Durability

Post by Dreamstation »

Hi, I was thinking about buying a 3DO system and I just know how durable the 3DO is and any known hardware issues that I could possible encounter?

Rumor on the street is that the Panasonic one has a fan that goes bad. Or was it that there isn't a fan and it just gets really hot? I can't remember. Maybe it was the Goldstar. Wow. I blew it with this post.

I had a Goldstar (respectively purchased from snowkitty). Get the Goldstar. It's good.

Or just avoid getting a 3DO all together.

FZ-10 is your best bet from everything I've heard. I had the Goldstar unit back in the day and went through three of them (all under warranty, all of which the company replaced) before deciding to move on to something with less headaches.

I currently have an FZ-1 and haven't had any issues with it yet. But due to the hardware it has a greater chance for trouble then the revised FZ-10 from what I understand.

Here's a good site to be aware of if you're getting into 3DO:

Good luck!
