Post by disorderlyvision »

Just thought i'd share this. I thought it was interesting and never knew it before.

FF adventure is actually the first game in the mana series and was remade into the sword of mana on the GBA.

Bahamut Lagoon has an enemy named the Presenter that made its way into Final Fantasy VI. It's found in Daryl's Tomb as a monster-in-a-box. It's the second whelk creature you fight in the game.

There's also the link between Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean, but that's because of the history of Tri-Ace, not anything to do with the games themselves.

I don't know how many people know that Final Fantasy Tactics is actually a clone of Tactics Ogre. I'd lean more towards blatant ripoff actually. It even has the same developer I believe

Probably well known, but Dante from Devil May Cry migrated over to Shin Megami Tensei:Nocturne. Interesting seeing Capcom loan out a character to a completely different franchise(and genre)

In Suikoden II, in Greenhill, there are a bunch of flower pots in a row, if you go observe them they all give you the message "Dahlias" but one of them says "Dahlia Gillespie" which is the name of a character in Silent Hill. Both games are from Konami. Kind of a cool easter egg I thought.

Did you guys know that Mortal Kombat for the Genesis had a code that allowed you to have blood!?

Did you guys know that in the Japanese version of Street Fighter 2, which was a fighting game from the early 1990's, Balrog, as we know him, was actually named M. Bison, but they changed his name to Balrog in the US version because he may have infringed on Mike Tyson's image?

Did you guys know that in Super Mario World, if you found both exits in all of the Star Road levels, you found a secret map called "Special," which contained secret levels know only to the best and brightest video gamers around?

Did you guys know that at the end of level 3-1 in Super Mario Bros., you could jump on a turtle shell and bounce it back and forth between Mario and a step to earn extra lives.

can anyone verify this? i know SaGa is made by square also. and they slapped the FF name on FF adventure to raise sales, perhaps they did the same to the legend games
