Anyone know where to find a Saturn USB pad?

I believe the point was to find a place that has them in stock. Nice failed attempt to make him appear foolish.

If you want the PS2 version,
then you can get a PS2 to USB. Then again you'll need a lotta dough for that controller~ ;)

I am in the same situation, with PC and DC. I thought about getting some PS2 6 button pad, but I read on various forums that any usb converter causes some lag. I did read about some sort of usb driver hack you can do to correct it, but havent looked any further into it.

I already have the Total Control 3 Saturn to DC adapter, but its garbage. It doesnt read most VMUs and it doesnt feel right on 3rd strike. I think it may also suffer from some lag.

I have decided that I will just wait for a decent deal on the ASCII FT pad for DC and the Saturn USB both.

I wanted to get saturn pads to work on the PC and had been looking to get a PC Magic Box. I ordered one just now, let's hope it arrives safely and in good condition. Bonus is it also works with DC pads and PS2 (and maybe also PS1? I'm not sure of that part). Reportedly it has no lag.
I tried to find if it would work with PS2 dance mats but on a site I found it wasn't confirmed. I don't have one though, but it would be nice to know in case I ever see a cheap PS2 dance mat, might be cool to play on the PC with that freeware dance game.

Reportedly it doesn't work with the Saturn 3D pad, which is a shame. I doubt it works with Saturn light guns as well, but who knows (I'm not counting on it, but it's a plus if it does - however I'd need to connect the PC to a CRT monitor* for those).

*I'm not even sure the refreshing of CRT monitors works similar to CRT TVs in order for the light gun to work - does anyone know? If not it's no use even trying.

I was wondering the same thing on CRT moniters and light guns.

On the lag situation... these cats in a SMUP forum were saying that ANYTHING added between the controller and the port will cause some nanoseconds lag. Even an extension cord. The lag is not large and many dont notice, but it is believed that any and all usb converters/extension cords/etc cause some lag.

Again, they mention the driver hack to make up for it. Something about a default 8 nanosecond lag on the driver.

Is this true?

It seems like it would make a difference on technical fighters and SMUPS, if true.

I use the 3-in-1 Magic Box for the PC to play GGPO with my Saturn pad of PS2/1 stick. Works great for me. Lag on wired devices is a non-issue for normal humans (the folks that bitch about it are the same ppl who buy moster cable to be free from the power gremlins), the lag that ppl talk about is more to do with the TV lag the comes from using non CRT monitors that need to upscan unless you can run native (HD).
