So i bought a gamecube tonight and it was like PERFECT. Everything was clean everything was neat and perfect. So I walk out of GameStop a happy camper till i get home. Then I take it out, in all of its black and grey glorry, and when i bring out the cords to hook it up, duct tape... Oh noez... well after wresteling with the duct tape for a couple hours i found the cord was completely split. Damnit, has this ever happend to you? Well anyway i spliced it back together and sealed it and it works perfectly but i figured i would just ask how many times has Gamestop screwed you over?

not gamestop (since they never carried retro stuff in my area) but gamecrazy has. I got Shenmue, discs only, from them and by the time I get to the third disc it stopped working. I thought it would be simple and I could clean it, but nope. According to the guy at gamecrazy the disc had corrupted data on it. Though apparently he had a sealed copy sitting at home and offered it to me for FREE 8)

If I had a dollor for everytime gamestop put the wrong disc in the DVD case I could prolly afford a PS3.

F them!

I now stick to PlayNTrade and ebay.

I've never really had any issues with Gamestop. As for the employees, there is one girl there who is a gaming freak. She's the only person I've ever talked gaming with who could keep up.

Theres a couple good people that work at some but I agree that most I have seen and heard have been total jerks. Did you know that Gamestop is owned by Starbucks though? Just found that out not too long ago.

Gamestop's QA teams have absolutely NO standards for used games and peripherials. You have every right, when buying anything there, to inspect before you buy. Always do this. My gamecube was so badly fucked when I bought it for $30 and I got them to replace it, and let me inspect all the contents of the next one. Sure enough, the controller was third party and had brown dried cola chunks all over it, and the av cable was third party and in bad condition. I made the poor guy mix and match contents until I was pleased. He had to cut open I think 4 gamecube boxes to make me happy. Thats how things go. Maybe it will encourage him to file a complaint to the local quality assurance team or whatever.

Gamestop doesn't have QA teams...they buy your games/consoles that just came out this year from you for like 10 bucks....sell it for 45-55 and hope it works. I saw a used copy of SSBB in their and I was like...cool...I'll buy it. Get home and it doesn't even work. It's not like we should hold them to test used games or anything, cause then they'd like....be doing their job? Every time I've bought something from Gamestop I've had a problem with it. So screw them because I refuse to ever even walk into one ever again.
