Anyone here play Nightmare of Druaga?

I'm seriously considering giving this game a go, as I've been interested in play a Roguelike for some time now. Anyone here play NoD and can recommend it?
I've never played that game. Whenever I want to play a roguelike, I generally turn to ADOM (ancient domains of mystery); it's loads of fun and doesn't have an impossible learning curve.
I generally play as a gnomish wizard, elven wizard or archer, human ranger, or a trollish healer.
