While I've seen a ton of Series S, still yet to see a new Series X at retailers after trying (casual yet consistently) for 20 months. This looks to vary greatly by area but...

Finally snagged one from Microsoft's site just now 8) . Still in stock:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/store/b ... g21nnh47f6

You're able to buy it outright with a MS account. No HaaS financing or insider programs needed.

Reportedly Best Buy & Wal Mart also saw restocks today. Check your areas.

Hope this helps some RB members.

I would like one, but I’m more interested in getting a Mister together and running. I’ll make due with my One X for now.

Running Retro Arch within dev mode was actually a pretty big draw for me on XB Series platform.

I was looking at SBC or Nvidia Shield Pro TV options for a "consolized" emu station. This allows both...

I'll be plating Atari 7800 through 4K HDR new releases on a single machine 8)

No 2600? :(

Let me know if it’s tough setting up Retro Arch in dev mode. I’m potentially interested in doing that too.

I played the 2600 a bit growing up, but little to no nostalgia for it.

I really enjoy the 7800. I have a lot of nostalgia for the NES era. With the 7800, I always have that "wonder what if" vibe... if Atari had actually done a full US release in '84 as originally intended vs sitting in warehouses until '86.

Also just think the 7800 games are more NES & arcade-like vs the 2600. River Raid & Pitfall are fun though 8)

Still on my to-do list to get RA running on XBS-X! Been swamped.

Retroarch was the main reason i just picked up an x over a ps5. Pretty easy to setup on retail mode now but the mame roms are pissing me off. Does it really have to be that complicated? I download a romset for a that core and get either a black screen, files missing page, or crashes retroarch. About to say just fuck mame i never really cared for arcades anyway lol.

So I remember this being a learning moment for me ... MAME isn't as friendly as normal emus on ROMs... it's expecting a specific "set" associated with that release.

Honestly my arcade emulation experience is relatively limited, but it's not as plug ROM "A" into Emulator "B" ... it's more ... Emu "XYZ version x.x" is expecting ROM set "XYZ version x.x" unfortunately.

While a nice novelty... agree... here for the console emu primarily 8)
