After watching this I feel like having the music from the old MM X games played on a real guitar or by a real band would be awesome

So, you can get that in-game. There's an enhancement chip created by byuu called MSU-1 that will allow the SNES to stream audio (or video). It works on the bsnes emulator or on real hardware via an FXPak Pro (sd2snes) flash cart.
