...so I figured I'd give this a try. This is my current game room setup, it's in an extra bed room and it works until I can get into a real basement (and get everything hooked up) or something like that

...a slightly older pic of my main setup, I've added some stuff since the pic was taken. I have two Ikea Hemnes bookcases that I use for game storage and etc.

...on the right is XBox, 360, XB1, PS4, PS3, and PS2.
Image

...then on the left NGC, Wii, Wii U, Switch, and Saturn.
Image

...I have another Hemnes unit I keep some controllers and other games in. Please ignore the mangled Pokemon guide...kids

...and then a closet full of stuff, games, controllers, systems, and etc.

...so I haven't updated this one in a while, I actually moved a few years ago and our place came w/a larger room that I could use as a game room. So this was my revised setup for a while.

...it worked for a bit, I was able to put some shelves at the back of the room for additional storage. However, I kept adding to my collection which really squeezed the space up front for games. Picking up a CRT earlier this year just kind of broke what I had going b/c I couldn't find something to support its weight. After several failed estimates, we finally found a contractor that could build something that could work.

...this is a work in progress kind of thing and trying to trust the process. The plan is to have a modern tv mounted to the wall w/the CRT sitting on the shelf/top part of entertainment center. Games will go on the sides, and I'll finally be able to have all of my consoles hooked up below. I'm also going to try to finally get some decent sound going w/a 3.1 setup and also a more modern tv (my current gaming tv is 10-years old now). I'm hoping this works out well, as I said I'm trying to trust the process, especially since the project got started a but earlier than expected.

Whoa, talk about a transformation! I'd say the shelving is coming along. A work in progress, sure, but you're gonna have a great setup once it's all done!

I used to have that exact same TV stand (the glass one). I really liked it, though it can't really hide the wires and, man, was it ever a pain to keep clean. It'll certainly be interesting to see how it all fits on the new shelves.

Yeah, I have something similar, and the dust sucks. I gave up on cable management a long time ago. In fact, I'd say 3/4 of the consoles in it just don't have cables run right now, simply to cut down on that issue.
