Raspberry Pi 2017 Project

About 2 years ago I built my first RetroPi box. It turned out OK but took a while and never got it 100% where I wanted it.

Today I'm started a new one with the faster Raspberry Pi 3.

Here's my plan:

1. Build the Pi

2. Install RecalBox
I've already tested this on my Raspberry Pi 2 and it was 100x easier than doing straight RetroPie.

3. Hand Pick the Games

This time around I want to only have top rated/recommended games and personal favorites. Instead of just throwing everything on it.

I'll post pictures here as I go.

Neat, I'm very interested on how it goes for you.
I'm nearly finished an old model Pi I will install behind my brother's in-dash DVD player - Composite backup camera input activation via switch. Just waiting for the Piborg 12v power adapter. I will be using a PS3 controller and tiny bluetooth keyboard as input. It'll boot to Kodi, then fall back to Retropie on exit with a shortlist.
So tempted to upgrade to a 3 or zero, but I need to make this ~2013 model useful.
As long as it does AVSP and plays 720P h264 video (it does) I'm happy.
You wouldn't believe what I had to do to make Retropie accept old-model stuff. In any case it's stable now and I will not look back.
Following your progress & interested in your shortlist :)
