Hello my friends at Racketboy,

I'm searching for 2d platformers which are
- easy to get into
- not frustating
- beatable in one sitting or have a password/save feature

Games I enjoy which fall into the grid:
- all super mario land titles (GB)
- SMB 1 (NES)
- fritz the cat (NES)
- the kirby titles on GB and NES
- Quackshot (MD/Genesis)
- Little Samson (NES)

Systems I own:
- Gameboy classic
- NES/ Famicom
- Super Nintendo/ Super Famicom
- Mega Drive/ Genesis

Anyone here has any good suggestions? I would be really grateful.

In all seriousness, though, I think given that you listed Little Samson, you might enjoy Mega Man 2, probably the easiest game in the series, especially on "normal" difficulty. You might also want to give Cocoron a shot, I didn't think it was terribly difficult.

Most of the Capcom Disney games are pretty doable, too.

I love Ristar on Genesis. Definitely fun, although I don't think there's a password. Might be a stage select code, though.

Kirby's Adventure? The game is always a lot easier and a bit shorter than I remember whenever I replay it. Definitely one of my favorites though and gorgeous stuff for the NES.

Bonkers for the Super Nintendo is one that fits this description. It's pretty easy, it's short, you can beat it in one sitting.

There is also Smart Ball, where you play as a jelly bean. The translation didn't go over so well, but it's a simple game that is easy to get into and beat.

Astal for the Saturn, Aladdin for Genesis, Aladdin for SNES, Ducktales for NES, and Castle of Illusion for Genesis.

If you are going to play Cocoron, I HIGHLY recommend at least checking out a video or guide to get a kind of grasp for what kind of character body types do what and which weapons activate how. Some weapons *cough* flower *cough* are damn near useless, and there are certain body types that you DEFINITELY want to have at least one of in your group (usually in or before a specific slot) to make the final levels far far easier. Protip: Armor body types are total wank, and you really don't want to make a really heavy body type unless it's your last guy you're making, and you just really need a bruiser for boss fights or something.

Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers. Not too hard to find, decently fun.

I found a few titles in this thread which look pretty good to me:
- Smartball (or Jerry Boy)
- Castle of Illusion
- Disney license titles for the NES, SNES, GENESIS (I know a few of them but never heard of titles like Bonkers...)
