Are you all going to buy one of these? Looks like Nintendo is hopping onto the plug-and-play market!

Pretty solid line up of games:
Balloon Fight
Bubble Bobble
Castlevania
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (including this and not III shows good taste)
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Double Dragon II: The Revenge
Dr. Mario
Excitebike
Final Fantasy
Galaga
Ghosts'N Goblins
Gradius
Ice Climber
Kid Icarus
Kirby's Adventure
Mario Bros.
Mega Man 2
Metroid
Ninja Gaiden
Pac-Man
Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
StarTropics (why not include the sequel too?)
Super C (why not Contra instead?)
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Tecmo Bowl (why not Tecmo Super Bowl instead?)
The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
If it got down to $30 I'd buy one, given the scaling to HDTV is done correctly. I'd be willing to pay $60 if game library expansion packs were a thing.

Just saw an article on this now. Literally one of the most exciting bits of gaming news that i've personally read in a long time! YAY!!
Although after the initial excitement wears down a bit. Does it have a cartridge slot so we can play original games on it? Is this a Nintendo on a Chip/Emulation?

Likely couldn't license the "Super Bowl" name from the NFL.

Looks like the cart cover is molded closed, based on the picture. Likely straight emulation, but can't be positive until someone opens it up.

I am a little surprised they are doing this, given how much they charge for these games individually on the eShop. This is way cheaper than either buying all those carts or downloading Virtual Console versions.

Stunning. People been complaining about this, demanding it since Sega got in on the racket with some poor emulation or tv play devices. This thing looks like hopefully it's on a whole other level of quality sega lacked with atgames, etc. Solid spread of 1st and some good 3rd party games too. A solid win. I know it sounds bad, I own most of those carts, but I'd buy that if anything for portability sake and support to show they did the right thing finally.
And no it doesn't have a cart slot.
It doesn't mean one couldn't be added though depending how it is designed. The NES community is out of their mind with their will and want to do all sorts of crazy stuff with the NES/Famicom hardware. If this is some android setup, someone will hack it with a USB pass through or some sort of SD card mod job. If it's their own non-crappy (since they invented the system) system on a chip device (or a micronized original) again hacking could add a cart slot or again a passthrough. Even if that all isn't possible, you got 30 games there of which nearly 1/2 of them are 3rd party titles and all badassery down the line. Some may question certain oddities like no Contra but yes to Super C and I'd get that, and having Castlevania 3 omitted makes me wonder if it is Android/emulated as the MMC5 is a bitch.
Of that whole list I don't have BB1, DD2, Dr Mario, Excitebike, Galaga, Ice Climber, Ninja Gaiden (technically, have SNES cart), Pac-Man, non-tyson Punchout, StarTropics, SuperC, and Tecmo Bowl. Given the prices on those games alone, price doesn't look so bad if it plays right.

Man, Nintendo sure likes to sell the same games over and over again. Still, that's kind of neat. I already own all the NES/Famicom games I want on original cartridges, but I could see myself buying it as a present to somebody. For a slightly cheaper price, anyway...

In addition to HDMI support and a lack of cartridges, the new mini-console also features one useful modern convenience: multiple suspend points, so that you won't have to fumble around with passwords when you start playing a game again.
If you'll look at the image, the person's hand is the size of the console. It's way smaller than a real NES, no original cartridges could fit in there. "Suspend point" sure sounds like a save state and emulation to me.

This isn't fake?

I'm not surprised.
The HDMI NES (mod board to add digital AV out from a NES) initial stock of 200 units sold out in hours (probably would have been faster if the website didn't break) and people are freaking out over the AVS from Retro USB (new high quality NES/FC clone console with HDMI output). They cost something like $120 and $180 respectively. It shows that the demand is definitely there, people want stuff like this.
I like the idea of the controller more than anything. It's a NES controller, but you can use it on a Wii / U via a Wiimote as well. I see them selling tons of controllers alone.
The game list is solid, although replacing CV2 with CV3 would have made it perfect in my mind.
I don't doubt that Nintendo would do something like this (or authorize a third party to) but the package just seems too good to be true. Even though I own VC games, multiple NES consoles, and a PowerPak, I would still get one of these for that price tag. A portable NES with most of my favorite games built in for $60? Yes, please.
