PS1 Inlay straightening help

Post by weasels »

Hi guys, it's been a while!

I am in need of some quick advice. Recently I have had the good graces to come across a copy of Ogre Battle on the ps1 that was complete and in moderate good condition. The disk was flawless, and while the case was pretty scratched up on the outside, that was easily fixed by buying new jewel cases, so no problem there.

I am very close of having my copy at least look like it's mint, but there is one issue. The inlays and the booklet, while not damaged perse, are a bit wrinkled. Now I could swear that I read somewhere that i could iron it down by placing the inlays under some glass and lightly on the glass, but i am not willing to take that risk unless I know it will work. So, my question is does anyone know how/ have a guide (maybe on this site? I did do a search but found nothing) on how I can make this set look great again?

Maybe edit your OP by adding picture attachments? Be sure the pictures are no more then 725 wide for an easy read.

Only thing I can come up with is placing copy paper very SLIGHTLY dampened both on top and bottom and hitting with an iron. Depending how bad the wrinkles the ironing might make it worse rubbing off the colors at the wrinkle seams.

If too badly damaged, print up another inlay and the manual front cover. Place over the existing documents, this way the originals are kept in the CD Case.

The wrinkles aren't so awful, at the very least the inlays don't seem to be heavily damaged, but it's still noticeable. I should of posted a picture before, but wasn't even thinking about it. I'll have that up later, after I get home from work tonight.
