Need help finding appropriate TV stand

Hi guys!

Someone in my neighborhood was giving away a 36" CRT TV a few months back and I jumped on the chance to get it for free. It's a Toshiba (not sure the model #) and must weigh around 200-220lbs.

My conundrum now is finding a TV stand around that can even support that kind of weight, while also looking nice enough to store my consoles that I want to hook into it. I'm mostly a Nintendo collector, so I'll probably be trying to display a NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube.

My current solution is I have them hooked up in my unfinished storage area and have it on one of those heavy duty shelving units you can get at Lowes/Home Deport.

Any ideas are appreciated.

There are stands designed for the larger TVs, sometimes you can find one at the Thrift Store built by the TV manufacturer. Just get a heavy duty stand (no fiberboard) and preferably with an additional solid CENTER VERTICAL support.

CRTs tend to be front heavy. If set high on a stand a good idea to anchor the back against the wall.

Thanks for the reply. Holy moley did I overestimate the size AND weight. Combination of being a weak fragile human and the weight mutliplier when carrying a giant plastic box with no obvious holding points!

It's a 32" and I found the spec sheet online. Turns out it only weighs 110lbs. Opens up a lot more practical options.

Thinking now just going classy with something like this: http://www.potterybarn.com/products/log ... MerchRules
