Even though it's not really based on a video game, The Wizard is the only gaming movie that I have seen that I enjoyed.
Does anybody have any that they liked?

I had heard reviews of Silent Hill that pretty much panned it, but I found the movie entertaining. The movie did an exceptional job of capturing the look of the environment of Silent Hill which is so familiar if you've played the games. The movie didn't just regurgitate one of the same stories as seen in the games even though it borrowed heavily on those stories.

I've only seen the first Resident Evil movie and found it pretty much boring and not having a lot to do with the stories laid out in the games other than the idea of zombies and the name. As a movie, it pretty much sucked. Because of that, I've avoided the sequel.

The first Tomb Raider movie was excellent, the second, not as good but was still okay. I still greatly prefer the games to the movies. Well, except for Angel of Darkness..... Now if someone could just help me get past the T-Rex in Anniversary. Why do some games feel the need to REQUIRE you use some special almost-impossible-to-execute move to clear certain sections? I hate that!

I never saw Doom, but it looked pretty stupid. Same for the Mario Bros. movie.

The Final Fantasy movies were incredible to watch, the CG animation was stunning. The story and bringing back of so many characters in the second movie was kind of lost on me since I had only played one game in the series and I never even finished that one. The story in the first movie played heavily on the themes created in the games while creating an entirely new story and I think it came off pretty well.

Silent Hill may have been pretty vapid, but it WAS a pretty, pretty movie.

That said: The Mario Bros. movie is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Kind of a tangent comment but I love any episode of Southpark that has anything to do with video games. Quite a few episodes actually do since the creators are big gamers themselves.

I've always heard good things about Silent Hill.

I must say Super Mario Bros is genius, as well as King of Kong, if King of Kong counts.

MK1 and Silent Hill. I can't think of any others. Some people did like Tomb Raider. Even my grandparents. But I never watched it.

I liked MK1, for what it was had nice coreography. I haven't seen the whole of Tomb Raider movies, but saw some parts and it seemed decent.
