On my blog I decided to do a short post everyday for the month of October featuring games that made me think of Halloween.

What I want to know is, What Games Make You Think of Halloween?

They don't have to be scary, or just horror based but I would be curious to read what games everyone here associates with Halloween for what ever reason you may have.

CASTLEVANIA *is* Halloween incarnate in video game form. (Pretty much anything pre-Lords of Shadow at least.)

For me...

I've never played that GBA Nightmare game, but the ps2/xbox one is actually pretty sick. Bought it for my girl, who is a Nightmare NUT, and ended up playing it quite a bit myself.

Gonna check out the GBA one tonight!

What's cool about the GBA version is it's a metroidvania style game.

It probably seems too obvious, but for me, Costume Quest has been my go-to Halloween game since it was released in 2011. It's one of those games that puts a big silly smile on my face from beginning to end, and has all the best parts of Halloween -- comedy, costumes and candy!

We're a few days away from Costume Quest 2, which I have pre-ordered, and absolutely cannot wait to dive into. Never expected there would be a sequel, but it's awesome that there is.

The Splatterhouse series is always my go-to for Halloween.
