DS or Advance SP?

I have the original Gameboy Advance. Didnt play it much as the screen was always to dark for me. Been in the mood for some Pokemon. Now that im pushing 40 i dont feel like looking at the dark screen.

Originally i was in the market for AGS 101 but ive been noticing that the DSlite are dirt cheap. So any advantages or disadvantages. I kind of like the smaller Sp though. However i take whatever is the cheapest lol.

SP AGS-101 looks better in my opinion but on the other hand the DSL is more comfortable and you can play DS games to.
And DSL is more common than AGS101 to, so you can grab one under 20 bucks if you are lucky.

If cost wasn't an issue I'd suggest having a 101 screen added to an original GBA shell as that's the best. Another is this GB Macro project a few do where they detach the top of a DS, cut then epoxy mold away the left over hinge bits and make it into a flat rectangular GBA to use that once was a DS but that's seriously not cheap.
Best bet is just the SP itself unless it's uncomfortable, then get a standard DSlite as it has the best screen (DS is kinda dark too.)

Get a
Cobalt & Black DS Lite and be happy forever. Best DS Lite screens, awesome contrast, plenty bright, nice color saturation, little to no movement blur. And besides being able to play the GBA
Pokemon games, it can also play the
myriad DS ones.

GBA if you want to play Game Boy/Color and GBA games.
DS if you want to play GBA and DS games.
Or both if you want to play everything.

Also GBA if you want to do some Gamecube linkup action like Four Swords and Crystal Chronicles.....you scoff, but one day you will be like, "Man....I REALLY want to play those."

Bah thats what Gameboy Players are for.
If the SP is too small for long time play, which for me it can be, the DS or DSlite are a better choice. So that is really up to you and your hands.

As was said before, an original GBA modded with the 101 screen is my personal best choice, I did this mod a while back and still love it! the form factor of the original GBA cant be beat. I have also been making a couple of the "Game Boy Macro" units mentioned, and while they are plenty comfortable to hold, the original DS screens leave a bit to be desired in terms of brightness and quality compared to the 101.
I would say the cheapest/best option would be the DSL, easy to find, comfortable, and nice screen, as long as you dont care about link cable action.
