Pokemon Green Limited Edition

Hello! I'm seeking information on the Pokemon Green limited edition Gameboy game. I am not talking about just any Japanese Pokemon Green, this is the limited edition release. This game came with a limited edition black box. The artwork on the game and box are different, from the normal Green version artwork. There is no difference in gameplay. I only know of 3 copies, including mine. One of which is sealed in the black box. My copy is 1 owner and came originally with just the clear Gameboy game case. It also has a sticker in Japanese on the back. I do not read Japanese. It seems to tell the date purchased. This item has never been up for auction. It's so rare the biggest pokemon collectors in the world have no idea what to make of it. There is NO information on the internet.
I'm hoping someone knows the production numbers. Any ideas on what this could be worth? With a Pokemon card getting 50k offers this week, who knows. This could potentially hit new auction records for a Gameboy color.

I'm by no means a Pokemon collector, but http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/ ... n_Versions makes no mention of it... knowing how popular the series is and how many boots are out there, I'm guessing it's some sort of bootleg? Not to crush your hopes and dreams, just a gut feeling there. Good luck though.

Pictures would help determine what it is. My guess is a bootleg.

I have never heard of such a thing as a Limited Edition, the release of Pokémon is well documented and things like these would be more than known.

Chances are it's a bootleg.

If memory serves me correctly, one of my friends had one in primary school which he bought while on a family holiday in Thailand. It didn't seem like a very stable release, and all the grammar in the text was messed up.
