Raiden Project vs Arcade

Is anyone here an expert in Raiden? I've played it a ton and love it, and as far as I can tell the PS1 Raiden Project ports are nearly identical, but I'd be foolish to argue they are perfect ports without more information. Can anyone attest to how accurate the ports are to the arcade originals?

The difficulty is a bit off in the ps1 port. The default difficulty is easier than the original arcade board, and the next highest difficulty is a tad more difficult than the arcade.
I personally find that the more difficult option is closer to the original. I'd say its about here:
Default ps1------------PCB----Harder difficulty.
