Thoughts y'all?

I have a love/hate relationship w/ Soul Calibur. II is probably my favorite, although I think it's pretty safe to assume we won't have Link in the HD Online version

I'm still in love with this game. I bought a strategy guide for it yesterday. This is the best news since Project Diva. Any word on a launch date?

I have a love/love relationship with Soulcalibur II. It's probably the best one - although I prefer III - and you really can't not love it. I main Cassanrda in II and III and I can't wait to test my skills online. This will be the first time I buy an HD remake of a game I already own - hopefully it's cheap.

I've always played the PS2 version, BTW. Only played as Link once in my life. He's definitely cool, but I prefer Heihachi because of my karate background. Spawn is the only one who isn't worth getting excited about >_>

I prefer the original Soul Calibur, really. (Aside from Talim not being introduced until II.) I dunno. I don't feel like the numbered Soul Caliburs really needed reintroducing, but online is a feature, I guess. I'm not good enough at Soul Calibur to really care about the online, but it's probably worth it for that alone. (As long as the servers stay up.)

First one is definitely the best for me. I don't really like any of the other ones.

Agreed. None of the sequels touch the original in my opinion. SCII was nonetheless a good fighting game, but no Link means no purchase for me.

Soul Calibur II is my favorite video game, so this presents a dillema for me. I don't want to get it because:
1) I don't feel like buying a game I already own
II) I'll have to play through it again, which I dont want to do because I've already spent days playing it
c) No Link :(
At the same time though, I do like being able to play other humans, since I don't see my friends much and none of them even knew about it before they played it at my house a year ago.

I wonder what Project Soul plans to do about the Sidestep Gaurd exploit that was eventually discovered in the original Soul II. Will they they fix it or keep it as is? Hmm...

it may or may not come out for nintendo consoles:

I found the gamecube version highly enjoyable back then.

I understand liking the original more, but what makes it that much better in your eyes?

Also, Link isn't that big of a deal...

The soundtrack in Soul Calibur 2 pales in comparison to the original. The charater designs in the original look more orgainc and appealing to me (why is Astaroth 2ndary outfit a purple bunny???)
The pacing overall in the original is more casual friendly but also more methodical. Gameplay wise, the sequel got more enveloped in Air jugging with regards to overall damage. I personally didn't like how the collision felt in 2 over the first one.
