The State of Video Game Blogging

Considering that this site is a video game blog I figured that it would be best to bring this topic up here.

I've been blogging about video games for a few months now and being a blogger I've been out looking for other blogs to read, become friends with etc. I've put a lot of hours into my search and what I found was that out of the best 50 VG blogs the majority (about 40) were run by a company or by a team of bloggers. For some reason this disappointed me because these blogs feel like news/editorial sites pretending to be a blog because its convient. I think that its a similar case for sites like Joystiq, Kotaku etc. Although these sites feel like blogs(writing style etc.) I personally see them differently.

Basically I found it a struggle to find quality, smaller gaming blogs. So I wanted to see what you guys think about the state of video game blogging. Do you read any other small gaming blogs? Do you have a positive impression of small gaming blogs? Personally I think that this site is an excellent example of a blog with great content, that welcomes community and isn't like a news based site.

I hope that this came out alright, I've spent a while trying to translate my thoughts into words. I don't understand the VG blogging scene

There aren't too many single-writer blogs out there....
Arcade Renaissance, PressTheButtons and Gnome's stuff are the only ones I can think of that I regularly enjoy.

I also enjoy the Dreamcast Junkyard, Saturn Junkyard, Siliconera (which posts a lot and I have a hard time keeping up with)
They are all indie, but have multiple writers on a regular basis, but are lead by a main writer.

Having a single-writer blog in gaming is very challenging if you want to keep up on all the latest developments. Even my stuff can be draining just trying to cover all the material I want to (much of which I'm not an expert in) and keeping a nice flow of quality posts coming.

Thanks for the links, I've been reading Siliconera and Press the Buttons for a while now and they are two of my favourite gaming blogs. I'd been to Arcade Renaissance before as well but I forgot the URL somehow.
