Arcade Sticks for PS3
Arcade Sticks for PS3
Anyone here game with an Arcade Stick? Ive had the bug for a while. Mostly use it for Shmups more than fighters, but i think it would be fun. I have no idea what would be a good stick to buy. I know in regards to price, the sky is the limit. Defitnley less than 150 bux, would be happy with much less though. LOL Anyone know of a good stick for the PS3, that would work with PS2, Psone games? I have the backwards compatible PS3.

I've got a very good one for sale. QanBa Q4 RAF. let me know if you're interested. Would be in your budget and also compatible w/ 360 if you have one.
But I have no idea if it works with PSOne + PS2 games on PS3. My guess would be no.

If you want to play PSX and PS2 games, then youll have to have a PS2 stick. Most, if not all, PS3 sticks are not backwards compatible.
If you want a PS3 stick, most any USB joystick (that is not a 360 controller) will work fine, including the NeogeoX stick.
For PS2 sticks, Hori Real Arcade Pro (HRAP) 1 or 2 will do everything fantastically well.

Interesting! Had no idea about the NeoGeo stick working. That is pretty great!fastbilly1 wrote:If you want to play PSX and PS2 games, then youll have to have a PS2 stick. Most, if not all, PS3 sticks are not backwards compatible.

I forgot. I also have a PS2 HRAP, haha. Not sure if I still have an adapter. But it most definitely works.

In theory, any controller that mounts in windows as a Generic HID will work. HID meaning Human Interface Device. So a SNES controller in a USB adapter should work.ZenErik wrote:Interesting! Had no idea about the NeoGeo stick working. That is pretty great!
Re: Arcade Sticks for PS3
Only problem is i dont have jack crap on my PS3 to play with an arcade stick. I have most of the shmups from PSN downloaded. Nice chunk of those are PSone Classics.

Per this topic:

If it is a PSN download a USB stick should work. But PSX and PS2 hard copies will not.

Re: Arcade Sticks for PS3
I guess that makes sense. So my PSN downloads including PS2/psone classics (digital copies) should work with a PS3 arcade stick, but PS2/PSone disks would not.
Re: Arcade Sticks for PS3
Well then they should make Gradius V, a digital download. That is one of my fav shmups!

Ps1 discs work with usb stick becuz the ps1 uses software emulation. Ps2 discs do not though.
