I've seen a special hard drive transfer cable. Here have a pic:

Or one of your many loyal fans here can get you one real cheap.
Its the least they could do.

I'm pretty sure all those downloads are account tied, so you can just log into your new xbox and redownload them.

I had my 360 RROD on me, and I was able to redownload everything on my new console with no issue (And some of my games were trials first).
You can transfer your gamertag, and then re-download everything you have already purchased. However, they will not work until you transfer your liscences, which I did from a PC, by logging into Live via a PC.
You can only transfer liscences a certain amount of times a year, I think its 3 or 4.

Those cables will transfer everything except the games you installed off a disc.
If you use your same account, you will be able to redownload everything, and your gold membership will remain intact.
Make sure you go to xbox.com, and go to your account, and transfer all your licences to your new console. Your games will still work on any console as long as you are logged in, so this isn't necessary, but you want your licenses attached to a console you currently posess.
Basically, your licences work as follows:
-When you purchace something, the licence will be attached to your gamertag, and the console you made the puchase from.
-This allows you to play the full game on any xbox, as long as you log in with your gamertag.
-It also allows the full game to be played on the console you originally made the purchase on, regardless of the gamertag being used.
So by transfering the licenses to your new console, the licenses will be as if you puchased them on the newer console.
Since you already purchaced a cable, i would use that to transfer everything. It is the easiest method after all.
You could have also logged into your account, and redownloaded everything. And then use a memory stick or external hard drive to transfer all your saves. But this is more of a pain than the previous method.
