US Released PS1 Shmups?

Post by TheRev »

Looking to expand my PS1 collection.

Off the top of my head there's

Einhander
G-Darius
Gekeoh Shooting king (Shienryu)
Philosoma
Ray Crisis
R types
R-type Delta
Thunder Force V
That bastardized version of Gunbird

Any that I'm missing?

Edit: The official list

I am sure that we are missing some, and I am sure that there are a lot of shmups on the Activision / Atari / Intellivision collections.

Accordingly, please let me know what else I should add to the list. Also, I was not sure about some of the games on the collections listed above; so, if you think we should add some additional games from those collection, please let me know. Finally, please let me know if I should shift some games from the "Traditional" to the "Non-Traditional" lists or vice versa.

Do you want to include mediocre/crappy shmups, too?

That's subjective. So yes.

So, you're definitely missing Strikers 1945 (aka Strikers 1945 II). You might also want to include Galaga: Destination Earth, Space Invaders, and Centipede, some classic games that got not so great updates on the PS1.

Yeah I don't know why I thought that.

I guess I'll be picking some PS1 Shmups up soon and round out my PS1 collection.
