Just thought I would ask if there is a flea market or thrift shop where you never find any games or systems or anything game releated. I have a sallys thrift shop where everytime I go there nothing. Just maybe a few ps1 games like NHL 98 or madden 99. And when I do find a good game, its an empty case or the game is scratched to Hell. Just wondering if anybody else have places like this.

This is pretty common.........

Most of the games I find at the local Goodwill are nothing but Windows 95 solitaire/poker discs.

I try to make an effort to go in there anyway, you never know when they'll have something neat tucked away in there.

Goodwill and Salvation Army here almost never have any games.

Goodwill has a wall of broken controllers and that's about it.

I've never found a game I cared about at a thrift shop.

I get lucky every once and a while, but its all about being in the right place at the right time. I use to hit a Goodwill every Saturday night on the way back from dinner, right when they put out everything from Sunday morning. And have walked out of there with many solid titles. Disc only Neverhood for $2, cart only Metroid 2 for $1, stack of 15 NES games for $1 a pop - including Bubble Bobble, Dragon Warrior 3, Adventures of Link, and some random less valuable but still good games like Kid Icarus and RC Proam. And best of all a complete set of the AD&D red leather books for $10, which I promptly sold at a convention later that month for $300.

The Thrift store i go to used to have really good titles, but lately its been a bust everytime I visit. The last item I was excited about that I purchased from there was A Gantz Dvd collection.

I don't go in thrift stores often, but when I do, I usually find a couple of boxed Genesis games mixed in with the video tapes. I also make a point of perusing the CDs and DVDs looking for PS1 and PS2 games. That's how I was able to pick up Final Fantasy X CIB in good condition for $2. It helps that all the thrift stores in my area are run by older folks who don't know the first thing about games.

There is a local thrift store by me that I go to a lot because they have a great book section where I have found several very expensive, academic published books for 25 cents.

But when I am there, I always look to see if they have any video games, and it is always no. I only got lucky once when I found an uncommon TG-16 game (paid $2, was worth about $25). But that was like being struck by lightning. They never even have ps2 sports games.
