Yes.

No.

I love the distance this Gen has gone, it's nice to know buying a console you can play new releases for 8-10 years.

I haven't been following the rumors, as I'm not hugely interested in what's coming down the pipe. I may just wait until that generation is nearing its end, then swoop in and buy what I want for cheap, assuming there's anything I'm interested in to begin with.

It's weird. When I walk into a game shop now and see all the fancy current gen stuff, I'm bored and think to myself, "I could sure go for a SNES / PS1 / Genesis game about now" and just leave. I'm much more interested in the old stuff. Not exclusively, as I will buy current gen stuff on occasion, but much more so I want to play the retro stuff than anything else. As such, I have no excitement welling up in my whatsoever for what this next generation of games may have in store.

Yeah I'm pretty jadded I'll still play new shmups or fighting games and I enjoy most of what Suda 51 one puts out provided it's on the 360 (so Lolipop Chainsaw)

But almost every game I've bought since October has been a Saturn Game with Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 being the only recent game I bought and even then I questioned why it needs to exist. I'm actually happiest these days when I'm sitting on the floor in front of my TV like a 12 year old playing my Saturn. If I'm playing anything on the 360 it's a port of an older game.

Games now seem over produced and don't present that thing we old schoolers call challenge. I feel like if I got say Sleeping Dogs a game I thought looked sick from it's trailer until I played the demo, I could beat it with one hand.

Bring on the Ouya. At least on that I feel I might get something new and different at best and something old and comfortable at the least.

I for one can't wait for the next generation. This generation has been sucked dry. They're trying to move forward on 8 year old hardware that just can't do it, and they're making cuts as a result. Most games can't even run in high definition on these things anymore.

BRING ON THE NEW SHIT.
Older. Not wiser.

What about Shadows of the Damned?

I felt like I was playing Resident Evil 4/5 the short time I played it. It's cheap now I may give it another shot. But I guess it's play feel was in part becuase it shared a producer with the aforementioned games.

I also still need to rebuy Killer 7 but I'm not sure which system to get it on.

I'm still pissed the 360 port of No More Heroes never came out in the states.

I always recommend the Gamecube version. It's the console the game was originally designed for; the GCN's big-ass A button fits the control scheme like a glove.

It'll probably look better too.

speaking of Gamecube games PN03 is SOooooooooooooooooooooo underrated. I think it's the only "exclusive" that remained so and it's such a great game rhythmic.
