Hi All,

I am looking for someone to install the mod chip in my gamecube so that I can play imported games and burned games (mainly a burned copy of the Gameboy Player boot disc). Is there anyone out there who can do this for a reasonable price?

Seriously? I bought two gameboy players complete with disc both for under $20 last year off ebay. Seems easier to me but to each their own.

Keep in mind a modchip like freeloader, forces Japanese games to run under English mode. That's OK for many games. Some have issues needing the language switch.

I think Xeno GC is the only readily available GCN mod chip any more. I installed a Qoob Pro in a Panasonic Q not too long ago, but they were difficult to find even then.

To the OP if you buy the chip and have it sent to me I'd be willing to do it, but I've never modded a GCN before, but the Panny Q (among many other things). The Panny Q is definitely a much much more complicated beast and the Xeno GC looks insanely easy to install. In fact if you're looking to get into modding, it may be a good one to start with yourself.

i do recommend if your going to use a XenoGC do as i did and do a Wired install and not directly onto the Drive Board.

below is a pic of the XenoGC and Drive Board



also you need a few things to do the install...........

-Soldering Iron
-Solder
-Kynar Wire ( if doing a Wired install )
-desolder braid


i read once someone saying similar to........... to learn basic soldering use a broken item such as a broken Controller etc....... and solder wires here and there to gain some basic skills.

I can definitely recommend the XenoGC, and it's quite cheap as well. However, many people have told me that it is very easy to install even if you have no previous experience with soldering. This last bit is quite untrue. However, if you have soldered before, I'm confident you will have no problem installing this chip.
