High Score Thread?

Post by jay_red »

I took a quick look, but didnt see anything, but do we have a high score thread somewhere? With my recent watching of the Tetris documentary "Order of Ectasy" I decided to see how I could compare on NES Tetris, needless to say, I have a lot of work ahead of me. At the same time, my Wife has just discovered Puzzle Bobble/Bust a Move on our MAME cabinet, and has been working to get higher scores.

If there already is a thread that would be great if someone could point me the way, if not maybe we should get one going. Keeping scores of retro games where score was the objective could be fun for the community. Im feel that this community is honest and would hold true scores to a high integrity, but screen shots could be nice to show off the score.

Go look at some of the ones in the shmups section, then perhaps start one for a specific game in the other section since those are puzzlers.

No thread currently exists, but I would love to see some for all sorts of puzzlers (and some run n' guns / platformers that can't be milked).

The only issue is having an active person start it...and not start too many. That's when they start to die (no one updates them, or discusses them actively).

Just be sure to notate acceptable platforms, which version, and which settings are being used so the playing field is the same for all.

Well maybe we can get one going then, just start to post up some scores on certain games and go from there? I would gladly post my mediocre NES tetris score if it meant getting people active in beating it! What would be the best sub forum? seeing as these games would be across various platforms (MAME is necessary to get some of the essentials IMO)

Definitely make a Tetris score thread. I have a special guest's score to add.
