Which version of Time Splitters Future Perfect should I get?

Post by captainsugartits »

The title says it all. My options are the gamecube version or the ps2 version. Xbox is out of the question. I can afford either version. I'm thinking about getting the gamecube version, as I have the gamecube version of TS2.

It's too bad Xbox isn't an option, because that's the best version. I'd get it on PS2, simply because the PS2 controller is more suited for FPS games than GCN.

I haven't played the other versions but I have the GCN and throughly enjoy it. If you liked the controls on TS2 on GCN, then I would recomend gettting it on GCN. You will be able to find it cheaper on PS2 though. I lucked out and got it , Gauntlet:Dark Legacy, and Capcom Vs SNK 2 for $20 plus tax at a gamestop B2G1 sale. But amazon's cheapest listing is for $25 plus shipping.

I disagree. The GameCube controller is super comfortable, and I spent many hours playing TimeSplitters on the 'Cube back in college. I would recommend remapping the controls though.

One reason to consider the Xbox or PS2 versions is if you ever want to play a LAN game, as this feature was omitted from the GCN version.

I agree with Duane on all points, Xbox is the best choice then I always enjoyed the GCN version almost equally despite the minor short comings. Plus when comparing it to the gamecube library its that much more awesome!

I bought it on the Cube and Xbox since we had so much fun playing 2. I bought Cube first but when I bought an Xbox for the second time I got it on there too so I could have the harddrive and lan option - though we only played lan a handful of times.

On the Cube I had to swap out joysticks so I had a real stick in the C-Stick area. That made it so much better, I couldnt use the C-stick for strafing.

What control layout were you using? Isn't the default to move with the Control Stick and look with the C-Stick? Or were you using Goldeneye-style control?

I always use legacy controls on console shooters. So yeah, Goldeneye layout.

Out of it's competitors (DC/PS2/Xbox), the original Gamecube has the most comfortable trigger buttons by far.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

It's not the triggers I'm concerned about, it's that horrible C-stick and the awkward lack of a second L-button.
