Are you the only one Retro Gaming?

Still playing and collecting classic video games while still playing new in between, but what I really want to ask is-are you the only one out of your friends (those which play games) that still plays retro?, out of all friends I'm the only one that does still stay behind, while they play well you know-Halo, gears, COD, and so on. Nothing really wrong with those games but I always wondered why some of the few of us still look behind.

I have a couple of friends who still play older games. One of them in particular is quite fond of Ocarina of Time. She's been talking about it and playing it since middle school. I don't know what other N64 games she plays, if any, but I at least know she's still got that one. I also still have a save file on my copy of Oracle of Seasons with her name on it.

I also have some friends who still play PS2 games, but I'm not sure if those are considered retro yet.

I'm the only one that really plays retro games on an remotely regular basis. I have a few friends that will take the time to play some of the "classics" though. One of them just finished Doom for the first time, for instance.

My immediate circle of friends play Madden and NBA 2K games, but that is about it. Forget about retro gaming. For them, Madden 11 is retro.

Though we don't go to the same school anymore, I have friends who play retro games. They usually only play Nintendo games though, only one of them has a non- Nintendo system (a PlayStation 2). I'm hoping some day they will get PS2's so I don't have to drag them to my house for Bushido Blade.

Pretty much. Then again, I can count the number of friends I have on one hand so...

I know people I'm okay with at school who go back a little farther in gaming gens, but I'm just not a very social guy so missed opportunities.

Ugh now I'm sad.

Got one friend that still plays retro games. He's particularly fond of Chrono Trigger and keeps replaying it every now and then. He's been doing that for years now... lol

He still has a nice retro collection too. Very neat GBA collection with Castlevania and Zelda games, Golden Sun, stuff like that. Only he doesn't seem to play them on their original hardware anymore. Most of his retro gaming nowadays is on Wii and Xbox 360...

Still, even though I only have one friend that plays retro games actively, I still have a few that enjoy retro gaming when they come over to my place... ^^

My fiance and most of my close friends are pretty involved in retro gaming. For the most part my fiance enjoys gameboy advance and playstation games, such as wario ware twisted and tomba, and my friends will tend to play 16-bit and onward titles. The farthest we seem to go back is the 16-bit era and from there we usually play a multitude of SNES titles. So my friends and I will usually talk about what retro games we are playing when we communicate over xbox live.
This past summer I was able to procure a SNES and am now slowly acquiring the titles that I was not able too in my younger days. Although recently I have been forced to cut back playing my SNES due to school and have been playing titles like super ghouls n' ghosts on my SP.

I have one retro gamer friend, and another that treats modern and retro equally. The first one's the only one I know who's into the collective side of things as well, though, the other one pirates anything older than five years.
