Too bad the bridge commander games died in the early naughties. Playing as Admiral Adama in a tactical simulation would have been ace!

People have done some amazing things with the Freespace 2 engine. I recommend checking out Wing Commander Saga (http://wcsaga.com/) as well.

This looks right up my alley though I didn't care for the show much, I need to check it out.
