Starfox-like rail shooters list!!

I finished the 3DS Starfox today and it reminded me how great this sub-genre of games is. There are plenty of other 3D 3rd person rail shooters out there. I thought it would be fun to get a big list of em going here on Racketboy. I'll get the list going with some games off the top of my head. I'm not going to count non-rail space shooters like Starfox Command, Wing Commander, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, Rougue Squadron etc. Those are great games but if we included those it would be a massive list. Reply with games to add and I'll edit them in.

Does the ship need to be visible? (Third person)?

If not Child of Eden needs to be up there.

The special stages in Lawnmower Man were ripped straight out of StarFox It's end up being almost half the game. (It's more flying shooting sections than StarFox Assault >_>)

If you don't have to see the entity you are ... then there's like tons of FMV games that'd fit the bill too ... but maybe that's a deterrent.

Yeah, I'm thinking 3rd person behind the ship/dude for this list. I know there's a huge amount of first person games from the FMV era, but I personally think the physics of the ship and seeing what's near you or not give the 3rd person games a different feel so I don't fit them in the same category. I also think we should stick with games that the majority of the game is a 3rd person shooter, not just bonus levels or half the game.

CoUld SF: A Be counted like that because a minority of the game is like that if I remember right.

Vanark on the PS1 is very similar to Star Fox. I've never played it but I came across it when looking for some similar games myself. I love rail shooters, but tend to prefer light gun rail shooters, because for me being behind a ship/plane gets kinda old after a while.

Vortex (SNES) might count. Graphics look straight up like Star Fox at times. It's probably aged a lot more though, less polish and the free roaming levels are pretty maze-like. But yeah worth checking out.

Rail shooters are probably my favorite game genre. It annoys me that so many people lump them together with light gun shooters. That aside, you already have all of my favorites listed (the Panzer Dragoons, Star Fox 64, and Sin & Punishment 2).

One I've played that you don't have listed is Soul Star for Sega CD. Also, I haven't played it, but Yar's Revenge for 360 and PC looks like a rail shooter, as does the upcoming Crimson Dragon.
