Games That Defined the Genesis / Megadrive

Post by racketboy »

I finally finished the thing up
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/sega/gen ... drive.html

I would have like to flesh out some of the other games, but I can only write so much for one piece :)

if you could digg this I'd REALLY appreciate it:

Thanks!

I would have replaced Eternal Champions and Altered Beast with Earthworm Jim and the mega drive exclusive Disney games (World of Illusion, Aladdin etc), but that's just me. Great article though, I have a lot of fond memories of the Mega Drive =)

Thank you for adding Kid Chameleon.

For some reason I suspected the worst, so I had about 4 paragraphs ready in my head as to why it should be there.

Altered Beast was only really included because it was a pack-in game.
I did love Aladdin though. Once of the few Genesis games I actually beat on the actual system.

One of the games that got me into RPGs. Amazing game. A dam shame that the PSP remake was canned.

Cool list man. I Dugg it for you.

I'm pretty new to the Genny, so lists like this are great for me.

The two games that really made the Genesis for me were Truxton and Jurassic Park. A cousin of mine is a big Sega fan and had forty or fifty carts for it, but Truxton just sucked me in and held me there until I could beat it. The game, while inferior to both the arcade and tg16 versions, was awesome and I still think the Genesis version had the best music.

And I just love Jurassic Park. Ive got almost all of the toys, cant say that about my Dinoriders...

I know they are not even worthy of honorable mentions, but I thought I should say my peace anyway.
