Dismantle 4 Player Arcade Cabinet (Simpsons)

I just received my first arcade cab and I can't fit it through any of my doors. If I could just take the joystick/button panel off then it could fit through.

Here's my problem. I can't figure out how to do this. Google wasn't much help and who knows how much time I have before it rains. Haha

Any help would be great.

Thanks
:)

You would think that the CP would be detachable for repairs or something. Maybe hinged? That may only cover the top part though. Open the coin door and start to fill around. You may have too make your doors bigger. :D Any way I though some one here owns one or was looking, turns out that was you.

Some one help this guy out.

I see the hinge there but can't figure out how to get that open. I'll have to open it from the back I think. Does anyone know how to bust open/pick one of those circular locks?

Try reaching your hand up trough the coin door and up and try to find some latches. On my MVS they are at the top two corners of the control panel. On my Big Blue they are on a wall right bellow the back of the control panel. Just have a feel around it may take your whole arm to reach them, it dose for me. Of course I doubt the bottom part would detach with out taking screws and glue off maybe, but you won't know for sure until you can get underneath the CP.

Depends how big a hurry your in and if ya care if you mess the back panel. Part of mine was missing on my MVS. It didn't bother me thought cause I had to drill an extra hole for an extra psu any way.

I had a similar thing happen with my Gauntlet Legends cab. As mentioned, you'll need to go through the back or the coinslot (depending on what's in there) to get to the latches under the control panel. This will allow you to lift the control panel towards you on a hinge for easy servicing. From there you should be able to access the screws that keep the entire control panel attached to the main cabinet body. Make sure you disconnect the wires attached to the control panel before you remove those screws; you don't want the control panel to tip over when you're removing the screws and possible break the wires.

If the latches still cannot be reached, get a Cobalt Drill bit around a 1/4 inch in diameter and a center punch. Once you drill out the center, the lock will spin free.

Ok, I've got the CP off. But before that took it up to my deck to be sheltered and try it out. I plugged it in, flicked the switch on top, but nothing came on. Now I know that I'll have to take the back off. Going to try drilling the lock as suggested. I hope this isn't going to be a complicated fix. :/

Apparently it was working presale.
