NES USB Flash Cartridge for Roms

Post by benlippincott »

I am looking for an NES flash cartridge where I can put backups (ROMs) of my games and not have to use the original cartridge. I already have the ROM files on my PC, I just need a cartridge. I'm looking for something like the NES PowerPak by RetroUSB (http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.ph ... ucts_id=34)
but it is waaaay out of my price range.
Can anyone help me? :)

thats honestly not even that bad of a price though considering how much you'd spend on games at the end of the day

All of the console flash carts are in that price range.

I was afraid of that. Are there any that stand out above the others?

Well you do have the lite version of the PowerPak:

But it looks like you need a CopyNES, and I don't know what that is, and it has to be modded.

Overall just cut your losses and go premium, doing things illegal (because I assume you aren't testing homebrew) tend to cost a premium.

The Lite version doesn't have a card reader. So you need a RAM writer to write to the board. It doesn't just act like a program that reads rom files. It is for development purposes more than anything.

Would the normal version be good for dev purposes?

I don't think that would be a good idea because CopyMe and Lite combined would be cheaper.

Is the cart in the OP seriously as easy to use as the description implies?

My birthday is coming up, and I think I know what I'm gonna be begging the family for...
