s-video genesis offcolor via system selector

long story short i have been setting up my retro room and i bought a system selector and when i hook it up to my s-video modded genesis the lower half of the screen is discolored, its extremely noticable on the konami startup logo. instead of being orange its pink on the lower half. now at first i freaked out thinking i knocked something loose inside my genesis, so i tried hooking it into different ports on the system selector no luck. so finally i try hooking it directly into my tv and thank god it looks perfect. so then i thought well i must have a crappy system selector, but i tried every other system i had with s-video and it looks perfect in every port. no discoloration. now i guess this isnt a big deal but i was hoping to have all my sega systems on one selector so i wouldnt have to change channels, but i wonder whats going on.
