I tried looking for a unix simulator online to practice, but really didn't find anything else out of the realm of actually installing the os.
Could you let me know if there any unix sim out there that works without the full os install.
Thanks

Re: Unix Simulator Help
It's called an environment.
You can try Cygwin. (Which is actually a Linux environment, but if you're just screwing around it's basically the same)
The best option would be to download an ISO and make a live disc. It won't actually install anything, but it will allow access to the entire environment. There's plenty of Linux distributions to choose from (i.e. Ubuntu), and several Unix ones also (i.e. BSD).

Re: Unix Simulator Help
Besides boot discs you can also have two OSs on your computer the same time and it lets you decide which you want to boot when you start up your computer. But the CD distros are less troublesome option

Yeah, just burn a Live CD. You don't have to install a thing, but it still gives you the full experience. Granted, it will be slower than normal since you're loading from a disc, but it will still let you access the full operating system and all of its features.
