Anyone else looking forward to this game?

After reading this review of the game and watching a few trailer videos, they got me interested. I like the tile-based movement and strategic battle system. It's nice to see older game mechanics get refreshed.

YES, yes I am. I love dungeon crawls and have played through Dungeon Master (1 and 2), all of the Eye of the Beholder games, and a few others whos names escape me. Also the Etrian Odysseys too.

I am looking forward to this game like you wouldn't believe. :P

I've never really played a game like this, which is why I'm interested. I did play Wizardy many years ago and the SNES Shin Megami Tensei games were similar in some design aspects. I also own, but have never played Stoneskeep. I think I need to install that and give it a whirl while I'm waiting for Legend of Grimrock to release.

Some guy got crazy and reverse engineered Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back. Now you can play them on Windows again... FOR FREE!

I've been playing Stonekeep to get a feel for this genre. I'm really liking it. A lot. There's something gripping about being trapped in these dark dungeons and actually having the feeling of being lost. I can't remember the last time a game actually let me feel lost without immediately pointing me in the direction I need to go with a big fat arrow or NPC telling me what to do next.

Awesome! If you ever want a modern game that leaves you completely to your own wits for survival, check out Dark/Demons Souls.

I was wondering when a LoG thread was going to appear. I purchased it a couple days ago even though I've never really played a game of this genre. Can't wait to give it a whirl next Wednesday!

I hope that you find it very enjoyable and rewarding. I know that for me personally, these games are great at triggering that feeling of wanting to press onwards towards what lies ahead, at substantial risk of bodily dismemberment and fear of the unknown. They are great at making you feel lost and in trouble, and can really get the ol' adrenaline going. Grimrock looks fantastic.

Stonekeep is one my favorite games of that era.

I preordered on their website because they give you a steam key, and other goodies.

Been waiting for a refresh of this genre for a long time.
