I've been learning the scoring techniques to this crazy game all morning.

Awww yeeah.
You know I'll play this with ya!
The arrange mode is neat. Gets harder everytime you clear it.

I haven't even touched arrange yet. I was able to play novice up to the "final boss" and died with a few shots left. I scored around 42 million, which is nothing compared to what you can do in this game. Found it to be much more enjoyable playing on the standard arcade and black label settings.
I've watched a few videos of people racking up huge scores on stage 1, but for some reason I can't get a good grasp on the Awakened Perception timing. I don't know why bullets are not cancelling into gold coins, or at least it seems they aren't.

I'm on a phone, but when I get home, I'll go over what I know.
Arcade and BL are both excellent... and quite different.
Which mode should I start explaining first?

Ok, here is what I remember from Arcade mode, before I go and start playing it again.
Killing enemies will give you gems. I believe being in the top half of the screen will give you more gems per enemy.
Tapping "B" will activate Kakesui. In this mode, you slowly lose gems over time, and lose a chunk per enemy killed. When you kill an enemy, it cancels its bullets, and turns them into gold. Each bullet cancelled is worth points, and has a multiplier based on how many bullets you have cancelled while in Kakaesui that time. The Multiplier can go up to 100. So, doing this in chunks with enough gems will allow you to get the multiplier higher.
Holding "B" will activate Kakesui Seyo. In this mode, you use gems AND gold to cancel bullets into more bullets. Even though you aren't collecting anything, you are still getting points for cancelling these bullets. I think you only lose gems and gold by killing enemies, but it may go down slowly over time. Each time you kill a new enemy, it will cancel its bullets AND all other suicide bullets. In this mode, your multiplier can go to 500, so you can get a lot more points this way, but you lose gold.
If you run out of gems in kakesui, you go into kakesui over. Fast bullets, no more multiplier.
In any Kakesui mode, you are much stronger, which is useful for the boss.
Gold amount and current multiplier is what determains canceled bullets point value.
The bosses point value is based on how much gold you have, and your gold constantly decreases as you fight the boss, no matter what mode you are in.
I usually wait until the bosses first form is almost gone, slowdown to get more gold, and leave the slowdown on, even if it goes into over mode. Since you will be killing the boss faster, you will get more points, as you will lose less gold.
I think you also gain points the longer you stay in Kakesui over.
I have not played this game seriously in a long time, so I am probably forgetting a few things. This should at least help your scoring get a slight boost though.
This game definitely has a crazy-ass scoring system. Its really great though.
I'll get a cred in at some point tonight I hope.

Thanks dunpeal!
I actually started to get the hang of it. On 2 or 3 runs I was able to get about 3-3.5 million by the time I got to the stage 1 boss (normal arcade). Unfortunately I got too excited and made bad mistakes during the boss battle.
I've made it all the way to the stage 2 boss. Near the end of stage two there are some AMAZING opportunities to definitely go into the 10 mil territory, but having only gotten there once I had to panic bomb just to get to the boss. I'm going to get into arcade a bit more and then try some more black label. The leaderboards show people with over 100 billion points.

Adding to main thread page.
I'll be joining in on this one too at some point. What kind of TV are you using fvgazi? This may have been said once or 8 million times before, but damn CAVE makes gorgeous games. I've never seen an ugly screenshot.

Just a Samsung 32" HDTV. I've had it about 3 or 4 years now. If I ever get a larger TV this one is getting some TATE action.
Also, Black Label is redone with hi-res sprites. I believe that's the only difference between standard "arcade" and 360arcade mode as well. Arcade is the actual arcade resolution and the 360 mode is
polished up arcade as with all the cave shooters.
