Anyone use bitcoin here?
I'm curious to see how people people here use bitcoin. I keep debating whether or not I wish to sell some items here and I'd prefer to trade in bitcoin. I could also accept dwolla. I've just had too many issues in the past with paypal and I don't like it. Thanks.

I would love to use bitcoin for this kind of thing, but the value is just too volatile for me. If we agree on a payment in USD, by the time the buyer buys his bitcoins for that amount of USD, transfers them to me, and I cash them in for USD again, the value could have changed by pretty much any factor you care to stipulate.
If there were an exchange that did the my USD->my Bitcoin -> transfer -> your bitcoin -> your USD all in one step, in a timeframe short enough that the difference in value didn't change, this would be an amazing mechanism for transferring value. Until something like that appears, I don't think I can get on board.

This is the exact reason it is so volatile. The majority of people want to cash out their bitcoins immediately to get the USD. Once people start wanting the bitcoins as the actual currency and not a gambler's paypal, Bitcoin may be viable.Hatta wrote:I would love to use bitcoin for this kind of thing, but the value is just too volatile for me. This is still way over my head, watched the video on the site but i still dont get how this works
How would i go by exchanging my bit coins for real money? I downloaded the program just to see what the UI was like and it's pretty straight forward.
